KIHT to expand activities in medical technology

Kalam Institute of Health Technology (KIHT) of the Department of Biotechnology has made its mark again in international collaboration, related to healthcare technologies, by being part of the Indian delegation visiting Cuba, as part of the visit of the President.

An expert in biomedical technology Y. Madhuri represented the Vizag-based KIHT in the delegation.

The delegation comprising experts from health technology sought to explore collaboration opportunities between the two countries in the area of biotechnology. The delegation was led by Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) along with KIHT.

Premier institute

KIHT is a premier Institute of India for promoting back-end support to the growing medical technology and plays an active role in supporting activities related to research on critical components of health according to a statement issued here on Wednesday.

During the visit a Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed between BioCubaFarma, BIRAC and KIHT with focus on exchange of technologies, products and innovations, transfer of technologies and commercialisation of innovative healthcare products of interest to both the countries.
