The Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, Prof K Vijay Raghavan on Monday visited Kalam Institute at Vizag to take stock of the Government funded projects in health technology.
Representatives of 16 national and regional Institutions including IITs, CSIR laboratories, Department of Science and Technology Institutions were present at the meeting.
All bottlenecks related with the completion of such projects like trade barriers, import support of raw materials, testing and certification, pre-compliance, prototyping, market validation, expert opinion on specificity were discussed in details.
Kalam Institute of Health Technology and Andhra Pradesh Med Tech Zone were given the role to carry forward the support to these high-profile institutions.
All innovations across various technology readiness levels were suggested to be technology transfer through the unique e-auction platform hosted by KIHT.
Prof Vijay Raghavan appreciated the speed and focus with which Andhra Pradesh Med Tech Zone and Kalam Institute are facilitating the medical technology sector in India.
He applauded Kalam Institute’s efforts to roll out key initiatives. Many eminent personalities including Dr Jitendar Sharma, Executive Director of Kalam Institute, the scientists from AMTZ and Kalam Institute and Directors of several notable institutes across the country were present on this occasion.
